The Ohio State Buckeyes were not selected for this year’s NCAA Tournament after losing to Purdue in the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament. They only won five conference games and finished in 13th place in the Big Ten.
Ohio State (16-19) mounted an impressive bid-stealing campaign in the conference tournament, rattling off wins against Wisconsin, Iowa and Michigan State in its first three games before finally falling to Purdue, 80-66, on Saturday.
Had the Buckeyes beaten Purdue and then won one more game on Sunday against Penn State, they would have automatically been given a berth to March Madness regardless of their record.
This is the first year since 2017 that Ohio State missed the NCAA Tournament.
