Based on the Bears’ schedule construction, I predict the Bears Make the Playoffs (+160) this season.
Whereas predicting the Bears over/under wins is somewhat difficult, the choice here is easier.
As noted in evaluating the Bears win total, Chicago arrives at the 2025 season a positive regression candidate. Last season, they won five games against seven expected.
The Bears finished 1-5 in games decided by three or fewer points in 2024, the worst mark in the league.
Plus, the Bears addressed their biggest need in free agency. By adding three quality interior offensive linemen, it offers the prospect for Caleb Williams to improve in 2025.
While Chicago faces a brutal schedule in 2025 – T-6th hardest by opponent win totals – the game distribution benefits Johnson and company.
Of Chicago’s nine games against teams with win totals set at 9.5 wins or higher, eight come after an early Week 5 bye.
Of those eight games, five come in Week 13 or later.
By that point, the Bears could own a stronger record compared to the market’s expectation, and this price would be long gone.
At that point, bettors could elect to try and middle the Bears’ playoff chances, presuming the schedule plays out as estimated.
