Former first-round pick Clelin Ferrell will be playing for a new team this coming NFL season. The former Las Vegas Raider agreed to a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers after four primarily disappointing seasons playing for Silver and Black.
Ferrell was drafted fourth overall in 2019 after a starring role at Clemson University. In his four seasons with the Raiders, he had 10 sacks in 58 games.
His fifth-year option was declined before the 2022 season.
Clelin Ferrel Salary
Ferrell signed with the San Francisco 49ers on a one-year deal worth $2.5 million with $1.82 million guaranteed.
Clelin Ferrel Cap Hit
The cap hit for the 49ers is $2.46 million (1% of the cap).
The move comes after the 49ers lost Samson Ebukam and Charles Omenihu left in free agency. Ferrell can play inside or outside, which is versatility San Francisco covets. He will be looking to follow a similar path to players like Arden Key or Kerry Hyder, who were underwhelming in other spots but have flourished for the 49ers.
Clelin Ferrel Potential Extension
It is possible that stellar play could result in a long-term extension for Ferrell. San Francisco hopes they can tap into the potential of the 26-year-old defensive lineman and that he can help them make a run at the Super Bowl.
