  • The Commanders are a 2.5-point home favorite against the Steelers.
  • The Steelers have won four straight as road underdogs against NFC opponents.
  • My Commanders vs. Steelers prediction is for Pittsburgh to cover the spread.

Jayden Daniels will go for a sixth straight cover as market favorites in Week 10 against the Steelers.ย

The Commanders extended its winning streak to three games with a Week 9 win over the New York Giants. Itโ€™s also the seventh straight cover for Dan Quinnโ€™s side.ย

The Steelers had a bye week in Week 9 after three straight victories. Since switching to Russell Wilson, the Steelers are 2-0 SU and ATS and are averaging 31.5 points per game.ย

Commanders vs. Steelers Prediction

Based on Mike Tomlinโ€™s strong record as an underdog and Washingtonโ€™s cover streak, my Commanders vs. Steelers prediction is the Steelers Spread (+2.5, -110).ย

Finallyโ€ฆ.a chance to sell the Commanders.ย

As referenced earlier, Washington has covered seven consecutive games and is a perfect 5-0 ATS as market favorites this season.ย

But this is easily the best defense Washington will have faced all season. In fact, Pittsburgh is the only top-five defense theyโ€™ll have played based on PFFโ€™s defensive grades.ย

Thereโ€™s another matchup problem for Washington: their pass-blocking capabilities against a strong front seven for Pittsburgh.ย

In Week 5-8, Washington posted three pass-blocking grades south of 65, per PFF (the only success came against Carolina).ย

In Weeks 1-4, that only happened once. In Week 10, Washingtonโ€™s line faces a Steelers defense with the best pressure grade in the NFL.ย

As for Tomlin, heโ€™s excelled both as an underdog and against rookie quarterbacks.ย

For his career, Tomlin is 66% ATS as a market underdog, including 16-9 ATS against the NFC and 5-2 ATS against the NFC over the last three seasons.ย

As for the latter trend, Tomlin is 31-6 SU against rookie quarterbacks for his career.ย

That makes this the perfect sell-high spot on Washington, which survived a pair of two-point attempts against New York that could have easily flipped the result.ย

Pair that with a miracle win against the Bears in Week 8, and Iโ€™ll grab the Steelers as long as they remain market dogs.ย
