Off a bye week seeking its third straight win, the Lions travel to Dallas for a meeting with the Cowboys.
Prior to its bye week, Detroit captured a home win over the Seahawks on Monday Night Football. That moved them to 3-1 on the season after a road win over Arizona.
Dallas has achieved positive results the last two weeks. After falling to Baltimore at home, the Cowboys earned wins over the Giants and Steelers to sit at 3-2.

Based on the extra rest for Detroit and their unlucky result last year in Dallas, my Lions vs. Cowboys prediction is the Detroit Lions Spread (-3).
If you gave Dan Campbell truth serum and asked him which game on the schedule he wanted to win the most, wouldn’t this be it?
Detroit famously went for two down a point last year in Dallas ….converted….and then had it called back after an offensive lineman failed to declare as eligible.
But Detroit is on extended rest, while Dallas is far inferior to last year’s version.
Campbell is 12-5-1 SU with eight or more days between games and 7-3-1 with 10 or more days to prepare, irrespective of whether they closed a favorite or underdog.
Campbell is also 7-3 SU as a favorite of -3 or shorter, including five wins in his last six tries.
On the other hand, Dallas is 0-2 SU against teams 10th or better in PFF’s rushing offense grades.
Given the Lions are third in that metric, I’ll grab them now before it moves above a key number.
