George Pickens Contract: Salary After Cowboys Trade

Diva receivers are en vogue these days in the NFL, so itโ€™s not surprising to see a wideout demanding the ball every other week.ย

Unfortunately for the Steelers, they began the season with two ball-hungry receivers after trading for DK Metcalf on March 13.ย

Two divas in the Pittsburgh receiver room was an unsustainable mix โ€“ especially considering the Steelersโ€™ quarterback situation. So it wasnโ€™t terribly surprising to see Pickens dealt to the Cowboys in May in exchange for future draft capital.ย

Itโ€™s arguably a win for both teams. The Cowboys needed more capable receivers on the field, while Pittsburgh needed the superior consistency that Metcalf can provide.ย

George Pickens Contract

George Pickens signed a four-year rookie contract worth $6,752,179 after he was drafted by the Steelers in 2022.ย

Unless Pickens signs an extension with the Cowboys or is franchise-tagged, he will be a free agent after this season.ย

George Pickens Signing Bonus

George Pickens earned a signing bonus of $2,090,676 after signing his rookie contract with the Steelers.ย

George Pickens Salary

George Pickens will earn $3,656,000 in base salary in 2025.ย

George Pickens Guaranteed Money

Because George Pickens was a second-round pick, only $3.1 million of his contract was guaranteed. Most of that was his signing bonus.ย

George Pickens Trade Details

Dallas received George Pickens and a sixth-round pick from the 2027 NFL Draft. In return, Pittsburgh received a third-round pick in 2026 and a fifth-round pick in 2027.ย
