Drafted 44th overall in the second round of the 2017 NFL draft, Gerald Everett has proven to be one of the most dynamic tight ends in the league. He continues to improve his level of play as the years roll by and is in line for a significant free agency next year. 

In 2022, Everett recorded career highs in receiving yards (555), receptions (55), and touchdowns (4). He helped the Los Angeles Chargers stay relevant while they dealt with injuries, and was a key reason why they secured a wild card spot.

The 28-year-old signed a two-year $12,000,000 contract with the Chargers on March 20, 2022. It included a $5,000,000 signing bonus with $8,000,000 guaranteed and an average annual salary of $6,000,000.

In 2023, the tight end will earn a base salary of $5,500,000, a signing bonus of $2,500,000, and a miscellaneous bonus of $500,000.

Everett will carry a cap hit of $8,250,000 in 2023. His contract has a dead cap value of $4,000,000 this year.
