Russell Wilson was the sixth quarterback selected in the 2012 NFL Draft. Seattle took him in the third round with the 75th overall pick.

Unsurprisingly, none of the quarterbacks drafted ahead of him had anywhere as impressive a career as him.

The 2012 quarterback class was famously beloved at the time, with Andrew Luck and Heisman winner Robert Griffin III going back-to-back at the top of the draft.

Ryan Tannehill and Brandon Weeden were also drafted in the first round, though Weeden was a bust.

Brock Osweiler was selected in the second round at No. 57 overall, rounding out the five prospects drafted ahead of Wilson.

Nick Foles and Kirk Cousins were drafted shortly after Wilson.

Who Was the First Pick in the 2012 NFL Draft?

Andrew Luck was selected with the first pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

At the time, most analysts would have expected this draft to be known forever as the Andrew Luck draft class.ย

However, because of the way NFL history has played out, itโ€™s much more likely to be known as the Russell Wilson draft class.
