Kellen Moore’s first Saints coaching staff features Doug Nussmeier as the offensive coordinator.
Nussmeier worked with Moore last season in Philadelphia as the quarterbacks coach. That came after working as Moore’s quarterbacks coach during his 2023 season in Los Angeles.
Prior to those one-season stops, Nussmeier spent five years with the Cowboys.
For his first two seasons, he operated as the tight ends coach. Then, he transitioned to coaching the quarterbacks.
Nussmeier’s only other NFL experience came in 2006-07. With the then St. Louis Rams, he coached the quarterbacks.
Between his stints with St. Louis and Dallas, Nussmeier spent 10 years working in college football.
The 55-year-old coached five different schools as the offensive coordinator & QB coach. His stops: Fresno State, Washington, Alabama, Michigan and Florida.
Nussmeier also spent three seasons with Michigan State as the quarterbacks coach from 2003-05. To begin his coaching career, he worked two seasons in the CFL.
