  • The Saints are a 3-point home underdog against the Rams.
  • The Rams have won each of their last nine Sunday games as road favorites.
  • My Saints vs. Rams prediction focuses on the Rams team total.

After a loss to the Eagles on SNF, the Rams travel to New Orleans for a meeting with the Saints.

Los Angeles, which sat at 1-4 after Week 5, has reeled off four wins in six to reenter the playoff picture. However, a 37-20 loss to the Eagles dropped them to 5-6.

New Orleans captured two straight wins over the Falcons and Browns prior to their Week 12 bye. At 4-7, the Saints sit third in the NFC South with a very high price on Saints playoff chances.

Saints vs. Rams Prediction

Based on the Rams’ outstanding offensive metrics against strong defenses, my Saints vs. Rams prediction is the Rams Team Total Over 25.5 Points (-120).

This is a brilliant chance to buy low on LA’s offense while selling a fraudulent Saints defense.

The Rams rank 14th in offensive DVOA, having faced the sixth-hardest set of opposing offenses, per ftnfantasy.com.

Only twice prior has Sean McVay’s offense faced a defense 20th or worse in defensive DVOA.

Once came without both Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua and the Rams still managed 20 points. With them in a trip to New England, the Rams exploded for 28 points.

Now they get a Saints defense 22nd in defensive DVOA. The Saints aren’t battle tested, though, evidenced by the fact New Orleans has faced the fourth-easiest set of opposing offenses.

The Saints have played only one game this season against a team 16th or better in offensive DVOA, having faced a top-10 set of opposing defenses.

That came in Week 6 against the Buccaneers, who blitzed the Saints for 51 points.

Irrespective of opponent offensive strength, New Orleans has struggled to keep teams under this number.

Despite playing easy offenses, New Orleans has allowed five of 11 teams to clear this number, with six of 11 reaching 23 points.

Without accounting for LA’s injury absentees, they’ve still managed to clear this number four times, three of which came since Week 8.

As a result, back the Rams offense against an overrated Saints defense on Sunday.
