After two seasons with Bobby Slowik, the Texans have changed its offensive coordinator for 2025.
Nick Caley arrives from the Los Angeles Rams to helm Houston’s offense. Caley served as the tight ends coach for both his seasons in Los Angeles.
Additionally, he took pass game coordinator responsibilities for the 2024 season. In that role, he led a Rams passing game that finished 10th in pass offense DVOA, per ftnfantasy.com.
A majority of Caley’s NFL experience came with the New England Patriots. Prior to his stint in Los Angeles, Caley worked eight years in the Patriots’ organization.
Six of those seasons were spent as the Patriots’ tight ends coach. Caley also coached New England’s fullbacks for his final two seasons with Bill Belichick’s staff.
Caley spent his first two seasons with the Patriots as an offensive assistant.
Caley’s time in New England came after 10 seasons working in both Division III and Division I college football.
All of that experience came working in defensive roles. Most notably, Caley worked as an Auburn assistant for one season before three seasons with Iowa State.
