Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Trey Lance is in the third year of a rookie contract signed with the San Francisco 49ers after his selection in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Trey Lance Contract

Lance’s four-year deal is worth a total of $34,105,275, all of which is guaranteed.

For the 2023 season, his base salary is $940,000, but he has a cap hit of $9,301,439.

Lance’s dead cap hit is approximately $20.1 million.

Trey Lance 5th-Year Option

The Cowboys have until May 1, 2024, to exercise Lance’s fifth-year option. That would keep him under contract through the 2025 season.

All first-round picks are given four-year contracts, and teams can extend that contract to a fifth year with players selected in the first round.

Trey Lance Extension

Lance is eligible for an extension after the third year of his rookie contract, which is after the upcoming 2023 NFL season.ย
