NFL players typically receive the signing bonus from their contract within 12-18 months after agreeing to the deal.

This sum of money is guaranteed, but teams can either pay the full sum at once or spread the funds throughout the length of the contract. The maximum amount of time that the bonus can be distributed is five years.
