Current No. 2-ranked UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington is one of the most entertaining fighters today. He is coming off a bounce-back victory against former friend and teammate Jorge Masvidal in March 2022 via unanimous decision. His trash-talking personality is backed up by his well-rounded MMA skills, which makes him an exciting name in UFC odds.

Kamaru Usman denied by Covington’s bid for the division title by beating him for the second time in November 2021 by unanimous decision. It was only his third career loss in 20 fights. When will “Chaos” return to the Octagon, and who will he face next?

When is Colby Covington’s Next Fight?

Colby Covington’s next fight will be another title shot against reigning 170-pound champion Leon Edwards. This was confirmed by UFC President Dana White in the post-fight press conference of UFC 286 when Edwards defeated Kamaru Usman in their trilogy fight.

The date and venue are still being determined and finalized, but multiple reports cite that the title fight is targeted for July 2022 in London. If the fight comes to fruition, it will be Edwards’ second title defense and Covington’s third career championship opportunity.
