With the MLB season now underway, several players have emerged as impact players for their respective teams.

Scott Braun, AJ Pierzynski and Erik Kratz of Foul Territory came together to give five names to know for the 2025 MLB season.

5 Names to Know For 2025 MLB Season

Hunter Brown – Houston Astros, SP

Often compared to Justin Verlander on his way to the big leagues, Brown had a lot of hype to live up to. Alex Bregman talked him into a revamped sinker in May of last season, and he took off from there. Brown seems poised to take another step towards stardom this season.

Kyle Manzardo – Cleveland Guardians, 1B/DH

Manzardo rarely chases balls out of the strike zone, and he feasts on fastballs. Those traits, combined with the power heโ€™s showcased so far this season, make him a sneaky threat at the plate.

Justin Martinez – Arizona Diamondbacks, RP

Martinez unleashes his four-seam fastball and sinker with a velocity average over 100 MPH to go along with a nasty splitter for punchouts and a developing slider. The Diamondbacks know how real the stuff is and already locked him up to an extension before starting up his 2025 sophomore season.

Brice Turang – Milwaukee Brewers, 2B

Turang is coming off a season where he won the NL Platinum Glove and stole 50 bases. His bat was below-average, but heโ€™s looking much better early this season and could be evolving into the total package for the Brewers at second base.

Patrick Bailey – San Francisco Giants, C

If youโ€™re a pitcher, you want Patrick Bailey as your catcher. This guy steals strikes with top-notch framing skills and can throw base runners out at any arm angle. When you see Giants pitchers thriving, Bailey is a big part of that success.
