  • The Philadelphia Phillies have received the most bets to win the World Series.
  • The Baltimore Orioles are the preferred choice amongst bettors to win the American League.
  • Philadelphia leads the National League pennant market in tickets and dollars wagered.

Below, bettors can find MLB public betting trends, money percentages and consensus picks for the three main futures markets.

In game-by-game scenarios, the public side is defined as the team or total which attracts a majority of tickets at the BetMGM online sportsbook.

Consider the data for index markets, such as the World Series futures market and the public side becomes the team which attracts a plurality of tickets.

That said, let’s dive into the current report based on MLB odds.

MLB Public Betting Percentages, World Series

As of July 22, the Philadelphia Phillies (+425) have received the most tickets to win the 2024 World Series.

Philadelphia has received 11.8% of bets and 16.4% of all dollars wagered in the World Series futures market.

Only four other teams have received more than 6.5% of tickets to win the World Series:

  • Baltimore Orioles (+700): 10.6% of bets placed, 11.4% of all money wagered
  • New York Yankees (+600): 9.9% of bets placed, 10.1% of all money wagered
  • Los Angeles Dodgers (+333): 9.8% of bets placed, 13.3% of all money wagered
  • Atlanta Braves (+900): 6.8% of bets placed, 6.1% of all money wagered.

MLB Public Betting Percentages: AL Pennant

In terms of the ticket count, the AL Pennant betting percentages closely follow the World Series trends.

Baltimore (+275) and New York (+260) have received 25.7% and 12.8% of tickets to claim the AL Pennant, respectively.

Two other teams — Cleveland (+600) and Kansas City (+2000) — have received more than 7.5% of tickets.

As it stands, those teams have received 10.7% and 7.9% of all bets placed.

Combined, the Orioles, Yankees and Guardians have attracted 54% of all dollars wagered in this market. Only two other teams — Houston and Boston — have cleared 8%.

MLB Public Betting Percentages: NL Pennant

In terms of the NL Pennant, the Phillies, Diamondbacks and Dodgers are the most popular in terms of bets placed.

Philadelphia (+210) accounts for 17.1% of all bets to claim the National League while Arizona (+2500) sits on 14.9% of bets.

Likely because of their short price, the Dodgers (+160) have amassed only 11.5% of bets to win the league. However, that comes against 19.3% of all money wagered.

Only Philadelphia and the San Diego Padres (+1600) can claim they’ve also received more than 10% of all money wagered.

As of July 22, the Phillies are sitting on 19.9% of all money wagered while the Padres have received 11.2% of all dollars on 6.5% of bets placed.
