If I hit a home run in a Major League Baseball game, Iโ€™d take as long as possible to touch all the bases. It would be extra satisfying to milk every second.

While MLB players may have more experience hitting home runs, some are willing to take their time rounding the bases after sending the ball over the fence.

But have you ever wondered who has the slowest home run trot in the league?

Fortunately, Baseball Savant offers the answer to that very question. Hereโ€™s a look at the players (or rather, kings) with the longest average home run trot in MLB (data from 2024):

Marcell Ozuna (ATL)30.2
Randy Arozarena (SEA)29.7
Yandy Dรญaz (TBR)29.1

Who has the Slowest Home Run Trot in MLB?

Atlanta Bravesโ€™ Marcell Ozuna had the longest home run trot in 2024, taking an average of 30.2 seconds to round the bases during his 39-homer campaign.

Statcast began tracking this data in 2019, and since then, only three players have averaged a home run trot lasting over 30 seconds for an entire season.

However, context is needed for the other two occasions.

Colorado Rockies pitcher Germรกn Mรกrquez completed a home run trot in 30.6 seconds after hitting his lone homer in 2021. Tim Anderson of the Chicago White Sox clocked a home run trot of 30.5 seconds for his single homer in 2023.

Who has the Fastest Home Run Trot in MLB?

San Francisco Giants outfielder Jung Hoo Lee recorded the quickest home run trot in MLB during the 2024 season, averaging 19.4 seconds to circle the bases for his two homers.
