Backing Skubal at plus-money odds is an easy decision, even against the best team in baseball. He tossed a 2.39 ERA in 31 starts last year, striking out 228 batters across 192 innings.
The Dodgers might have the best lineup in baseball, but a lefty ace is the best chance to limit Shohei Ohtani’s bat. They were also without Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts during the Tokyo Series, so their status is worth monitoring in this game.
The Dodgers are no strangers to the intense travel involved in playing in the first series of the season. They played in the Seoul Series last year and ultimately got off to a 3-2 start.
