  • Thunder vs. Mavericks Game 6 will be played on Saturday, May 16.
  • The Mavericks are a 3.5-point favorite for Game 6.
  • Dallas is a -375 favorite to win the series and advance to the conference finals.

The Nuggets vs. Timberwolves series isn’t the only Western series to feature youth versus experience. The other semifinal, which will pit the No. 1 Oklahoma City Thunder against the No. 5 Dallas Mavericks, should feature similarly fascinating trends and storylines.

Dallas came on strong in the final weeks of the regular season, earning the league’s best post-All Star Break record. Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving give the Mavericks a strong cache of experience, playmaking, and star power.

Oklahoma City, on the other hand, is a young team with minimal postseason experience. The Thunder almost resemble a college team, with deemphasized star power in a smaller media market, but bet against them at your own peril. They’re the No. 1 seed for a reason, and they’ve yet to lose a game this postseason.

It’s time for another border battle between Texas and Oklahoma. Here are the NBA odds – and a few bets I like – for the Thunder-Mavericks series.

Thunder vs. Mavericks: Game 6 Odds

  • Dallas -165
  • Oklahoma City +140
  • Game 6 Spread: Mavericks -3.5
  • Game 6 Over/Under: 209.5
  • Series Price: Mavericks -375; Thunder +300

Thunder vs. Mavericks: Game 6 Prediction

I am predicting a win and cover for Dallas in Saturday’s Game 6 of the Thunder vs. Mavericks series.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been the best player in the series, but Oklahoma City’s supporting cast has become more and more underwhelming as the series has dragged on.

Dallas, meanwhile, continues to play good defense and maintain a major advantage in rebounding because of its size advantage over the Thunder.

With the series coming back to Dallas, and Oklahoma City struggling to get consistent production outside of SGA and Chet Holmgren, I like the Mavericks to cover the 3.5-point spread.
