I am predicting a Mavericks +4.5 cover in Game 5 of the Mavericks vs. Timberwolves series.
This series has been closely contested in every fourth quarter thus far, which makes 4.5 points awfully valuable.
Minnesota is at home and is still facing elimination, so the point spread swings toward the Timberwolves. Yet Dallas had no problem winning outright in MSP in Game 1 and Game 2. Minnesota is 1-4 outright in its last five home playoff games.
Perhaps the Timberwolves can push this series to a Game 6, but Dallas’ closing ability and the tight nature of the series certainly make a healthy 4.5-point playoff spread compelling. I’ll take the points with the Mavericks and sprinkle some additional money on the +165 moneyline.
