Kevin Durant is widely expected to be traded from Phoenix this summer.

The Suns are stuck deep in the NBA second apron, preventing them from improving after finishing 11th. They had the highest payroll in the NBA this year and couldnโ€™t even get to .500.ย

The crux of the problem? Bradley Beal is a very expensive no-show, and new owner Matt Ishbia traded too many assets to force a trade for Kevin Durantโ€™s contract.

The result wasnโ€™t a super team, but a super mess.

So, yes, Durant is widely expected to be traded this summer. Phoenixโ€™s pending trade is the worst-kept secret around the league. The Suns are hoping to recoup whatever assets they can ahead of a long and painful rebuild.
