North Carolina missed the 2023 NCAA Tournament. It was their first missed tournament since 2010.

From 2011-22, the Tar Heels made 11 straight NCAA Tournaments, which was fourth-longest active streak for consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances until 2023.

Those are two of only four total missed tournaments since 1975:

  • 2023
  • 2010
  • 2003
  • 2002

North Carolina made 27 straight tourney appearances from 1975-2001.
