Looking to keep their playoff hopes alive, the Seahawks travel to Chicago for a TNF matchup with the Bears.

Seattle fell narrowly to the Vikings as home underdogs on Sunday in a 27-24 defeat. That marks two straight defeats to the Seahawks, who sit a game back of the Rams for the division lead.

The Bears fell 34-17 as home dogs to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, failing to cover the spread for the third consecutive week.

Based on the Seahawks’ strong defensive record and the success of Thursday favorites, my Bears vs. Seahawks prediction is the Seahawks Spread (-3, -115).

Maybe the Bears make sense north of a key number. However, the Seahawks’ outstanding defensive record renders them a solid bet at -3.

Seattle fell 27-24 at home to the Vikings on Sunday. However, Mike McDonald’s side outgained the Vikings 361-298 and posted a 6.0-4.8 edge on yards per play.

If Seattle’s offense continues to thrive, they could expose a Bears defense that looks uninspired under interim head coach Thomas Brown.

Albeit against three decent teams, the Bears have yet to cover this number since firing Matt Eberflus.

There’s also a decent gap between these two teams, even before their respective games on Sunday.

The Seahawks ranked 18th in total DVOA, having played the fourth-hardest schedule, per ftnfantasy.com.

Meanwhile, Chicago ranked 25th in total DVOA, having played the fifth-hardest schedule.

But the real edge in this game lies with the Seattle defense.

Since Week 11, McDonald’s unit ranks third in defensive EPA per play, including fifth in pass EPA per play allowed.

If Seattle establishes an early lead, a comeback cover from Chicago appears unlikely based on that record.

Lastly, Thursday favorites in games 11-16 are 61% ATS since 2003, including 9-1 ATS when they’ve lost two in a row.

Plus, teams are only 6-16 ATS immediately after facing the Lions since last year with eight or fewer days between games. As a result, the Seahawks are worth a bet.
