Based on Chicago’s strength on defense and the Cardinals’ weak defensive metrics, my Cardinals vs. Bears prediction is the Bears Moneyline (-105).
Lost in the Bears’ brutal defeat is the fact that their defense played really well up until the final play.
Through eight weeks, the Bears rank fourth in defensive EPA per play and fifth in defensive success rate, per rbsdm.com.
That makes this the perfect sell-high spot on Arizona, which just posted its second-best offensive grade of the season against Miami.
But this will be Arizona’s fourth game this year against a top-10 defense by EPA per play.
The Cardinals are 1-2 SU in the previous three contests. The lone win? At home against the Chargers, who didn’t have Joey Bosa.
Arizona is also 4-4 SU despite trailing entering the fourth quarter in all three of their most recent wins, with two straight wins coming by field goals as time expired.
Plus, Arizona’s defense is horrific. Entering Week 9, the Cardinals rank 29th in EPA per play and 32nd in defensive success rate.
This will mark Chicago’s fifth straight game against a team 22nd or worse in EPA per play. Over the last three, Chicago is 3-1 SU and sits sixth in offensive EPA per play.
The Bears also match a historically profitable betting system in this spot.
Road dogs between +1.5 and +6 in games 2-9 are 64% ATS since 2003, assuming two factors:
