For Aaron Glenn’s first season in New York, he brought Tanner Engstrand to serve as offensive coordinator.
Engstrand spent the last five seasons working with the Detroit Lions. For his final three seasons in Motown, Engstrand worked as the pass game coordinator.
In all three seasons, Engstrand helped construct an aerial attack that ranked sixth or better in pass offense DVOA, per ftnfantasy.com.
His first two seasons in Detroit saw Engstrand work as an offensive assistant and in offensive quality control.
Prior to his time in Detroit, Engstrand worked two seasons in the XFL. In the alternate league, he coordinated the DC Defenders’ offense.
That spell came after a 14-year spell working in college football. Thirteen of those seasons came with the San Diego offensive staff.
His final season in college football came at the University of Michigan. There, he worked as an offensive analyst on Jim Harbaugh’s staff.
