Daniel Jones has become a symbol of stubborn defiance for the New York Giants.ย
The No. 6 overall pick from the 2019 NFL Draft has struggled to lead New York out of the bowels of irrelevance. Washington, Philadelphia, and Dallas have all won the NFC East at least three times since the start of the 2012 season.ย
Over that same span, the Giants have zero divisional titles and one playoff win.ย
In 2023, Jones was neither good nor healthy, playing in only six games before tearing his ACL in November. He ultimately didnโt play enough snaps in 2023 to meet PFFโs minimum threshold for positional rankings; if he had, he would have ranked between quarterback No. 30 (Will Levis) and his own backup in New York, Tommy DeVito.ย
Even when he was drafted, Jones was seen as a reach. Perhaps Giants fans can perhaps find some solace in the fact that, on the whole, the 2019 class of NFL quarterbacks hasnโt done much.ย
