Seahawks Playoff Chances, Prediction for 2025

  • The Seattle Seahawks are +170 to make the postseason in 2025-26.
  • Seattle won 10 games in 2024, but finished second in the NFC West.
  • I predict the Seahawks miss the postseason in 2025 based on an unknown offensive record.

Based on NFL odds and Seahawks playoff odds, the Seattle Seahawks are predicted to miss the postseason this year.ย

Seattle notched 10 wins in Mike Macdonaldโ€™s first season, but they finished second in the NFC West. Now, the Seahawks are +170ย to make the playoffs.ย

Conversely, oddsmakers list Seattle at -210ย to miss the postseason.ย

Prediction: Will the Seattle Seahawks Make the Playoffs?ย

Based on the unknowns surrounding the Seahawks offense, I predict the Seahawks Miss the Playoffs (-210).ย

Stepping in front of Seattle from a futures standpoint is a scary proposition. After all, I expect the defense will take a step forward in 2025.ย

Last season, Seattle ranked 10th in defensive DVOA against the hardest set of opposing offenses, per ftnfantasy.com.ย

Based on 2024 opponent offensive DVOA ratings, the Seahawks play the 11th-hardest schedule of offenses.ย

Most of that difficulty comes within the division. Last season, all 17 opponents averaged an offensive DVOA rating of 1.19. In 11 non-divisional games, that rating drops to -3.28.ย

Littering Seattleโ€™s schedule with teams that theoretically could improve offensively. Those games are as follows:

  • Week 2 at Pittsburgh
  • Week 3 vs New Orleans
  • Week 6 vs Jacksonville
  • Week 7 vs Houston
  • Week 12 at Tennessee
  • Week 15 vs Indianapolis
  • Week 17 at Carolina

Last season, the Seahawks finished 10-0 when allowing 25 or fewer points compared to 0-7 when allowing 26 or more.ย

The issue? Seattle averaged 23.5 points per game in those 10 wins, up from a season-long average of 22.1.ย

Offensively, I worry about Seattleโ€™s prospects this season.ย

Sam Darnold and Cooper Kupp for Geno Smith and D.K. Metcalf feels a downgrade for an offense that ranked 18th in DVOA last season.ย

Plus, Darnold differs from Smith in that he likely wonโ€™t cover up a weak offensive line.ย

Last season, Seattle ranked 21st in pass-block win rate, along with 28th in run-block win rate, per ESPN.ย

Did the fifth-most injuries along the offensive line cause that trend? Maybe. But this remains a unit that ranked 25th and 30th, respectively, in those categories for the 2023 season.ย

Without improvement by the offensive line, I question whether the offense accomplishes enough to allow the defense to shine.ย

Pair that with the fact Seattle finished a win over expectation in 2024 (6-2 in touchdown games), and I like the Seahawks to miss the postseason.ย
