  • The Steelers are a 5.5-point home favorite against the Giants.
  • The Steelers have won 21 of their last 22 games played on Monday Night Football.
  • My Steelers vs. Giants prediction is to use the Steelers as a teaser leg.

The Steelers will go for a third straight win on Monday Night Football as heavy favorites against the New York Giants.ย

Pittsburgh dispatched the Jets 37-15 on Sunday Night Football in Week 7. That moved Mike Tomlinโ€™s side to 5-2, with Pittsburgh scoring at least 30 points for the second straight game.ย

As for the Giants, they suffered a second straight blowout defeat. After losing 17-7 to the Bengals in Week 6, New York fell 28-3 to the Eagles in Week 7.ย

Steelers vs. Giants Prediction, MNF

Based on the Steelersโ€™ strong record on Monday Night and New Yorkโ€™s offensive line injuries, my Steelers vs. Giants prediction is the Steelers (-0.5) as a teaser leg.ย

This is going to be a nightmare matchup for Daniel Jones and the Giants offense.ย

Last week, New York played an Eagles defense that was third in pressure rate. In Week 8, it gets a Steelers team that leads the league in that category, per PFF.ย

Andrew Thomasโ€™ season-ending injury appears to have decimated the offensive line. Last week, the Eagles produced more sacks than the Giants did points in the entire game.ย

The strength of Pittsburgh is the defensive line, led by T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith.ย

If Daniel Jones doesnโ€™t have time to throw the ball, it decreases the likelihood New York exploits Pittsburghโ€™s defensive weakness.ย

The Steelers rank 14th in passing EPA per play and 19th in passing success rate. However, theyโ€™re third and sixth, respectively, in rushing EPA per play and rushing success rate.

Plus, Mike Tomlin is 20-4 SU on Monday Night Football, including 14-2 SU as a market favorite.ย

Comparatively, Daniel Jones is 1-14 SU in primetime games for his career, including 0-6 against teams coming off a win.ย

Based on those factors, Iโ€™ll tease the Steelers down through three key numbers and back their defense to cause headaches for the Giants offense.ย

For the second leg of this pairing, Iโ€™ll take the New York Jets (-1) against the New England Patriots.ย
