As explained in my MLB home run props today column, I’m betting on Los Angeles Angels outfielder Taylor Ward to hit a home run against the Oakland Athletics on Friday at Angel Stadium.
According to Ballpark Pal’s model, only four players in the league have a better chance of hitting a homer than Ward on Friday. His fair price of sending one deep is +408.
Ballpark Pal’s projections have an 11% increase in potential home runs during this AL West matchup, marking the most significant boost for Friday’s full slate of games. That’s likely due to the forecast expecting strong straightaway winds.
Ward hasn’t hit a home run in July, but his most recent blast occurred during a home game against the Athletics on June 25. He also has a homer in six career at-bats against Oakland starter Paul Blackburn.
As long as this price is +525 or better, I’m comfortable betting on Ward to break his home run drought against the A’s.
With three grand slams in his career, Ward has shown he’s capable of delivering thrilling moments. Could tonight produce another one?
