My Home Run Pick for BetMGM’s MLB Grand Slam Jackpot

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. – Toronto Blue Jays (+575)

Friday’s series opener between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays could feature plenty of firepower, so you can’t go wrong with a home run pick in this game before the first pitch at 7:07 p.m. ET.

Toronto’s George Springer initially seemed like a valuable option, but I prefer taking advantage of the discount on his power-hitting teammate instead.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. doesn’t normally have +575 odds to hit a home run, but that’s due to his slow start this season. He’s hitting .214 with three home runs and 16 RBIs.

In a recent road series against the Kansas City Royals, Guerrero went 2-for-14 in four games with no extra-base hits.

But Guerrero has been a bit unlucky at times. He ranks in the 90th percentile in hard-hit rate. He had a flyout in one game against the Royals that would have been a homer in four other ballparks.

Perhaps Guerrero will have better results as soon as Friday night. At the very least, I’m buying the dip on a talented hitter capable of sending one to the seats in any at-bat.
