It was a smash spot for the Padres, and they delivered. Michael King struck out 12 batters against an Atlanta team that split a doubleheader on Monday before flying out to San Diego. Fernando Tatis Jr. clubbed a two-run homer in the first inning, sending Petco Park into a frenzy.

Best bet: Jurickson Profar to Hit a Home Run (+800)
My home run props today column is up 47.35 units on the year, and San Diego’s Jurickson Profar is my favorite home run prediction for Wednesday.
The Braves are starting left-hander Max Fried, which is why the latest MLB betting lines give them more of a chance in Game 2. He has a 3.25 ERA this season, tossing 8 2/3 shutout innings in his last start against the Kansas City Royals.
The Padres are now in their worse split, posting a 96 wRC+ against left-handers and a 116 wRC+ off right-handers.
Profar, a switch hitter, is the team’s best hitter against lefties. He has clubbed eight of his 24 home runs off southpaws this season. He also bats higher in the lineup against left-handers, giving him a better chance of sending one deep.
The Padres-Braves battle featured the only two home runs on Tuesday’s four-game slate, so I like taking a flier in what should be the best matchup on Wednesday.
