Dalvin Cook Contract: Final Salary With Jets

Just days after his 28th birthday, Dalvin Cook agreed to a one-year deal with the Jets in August 2023. New York was loading up on weapons for its inaugural season with then-39-year-old Aaron Rodgers.

Just a few weeks later, Rodgers had torn his Achilles, and the Jets offense was violently returned to mediocrity. 

The Jets waived Cook on Jan 2, 2024, with NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reporting that both parties agreed to mutually part ways. 

But with Cook playing on a one-year contract, and the Jets long eliminated from playoff contention, this was essentially a mutual agreement that Cook wasn’t needed to play out the string in Week 18. 

There are minor repercussions for his compensation. 

Dalvin Cook Contract

Dalvin Cook’s 2023 contract with the Jets was a one-year deal worth a total of $7 million. However, the contract was primarily structured around weekly bonuses for being with the team, either via the active 53-man roster or the IR/PUP lists.

Dalvin Cook’s base salary for his 2023 Jets contract was 1,020,000. 

After factoring in nearly a full season’s worth of weekly bonuses, Cook made a total of $6,591,764 from his time as a Jet.
