Arguably one of the top backup quarterbacks in the league, Tyrod Taylor enters the 2025 season as the backup for the Jets.ย 

Taylor joined the Jets prior to the 2024 NFL season on a two-year contract. The 35-year-old made no starts for New York last season and has made only five starts in the last three years.ย 

Since joining the league in 2011, Taylor has played for seven different teams. Of his 58 career starts, 43 came between 2015 and 2017 with the Buffalo Bills.ย

Taylor accumulated $50.1 million in base salary earnings for his career, including $17.5 million in his final season with the Bills and lone campaign with the Browns (2018).ย

Taylor owns a 28-28-1 SU record in the NFL, with 43 of those starts coming with Buffalo. As a member of the Bills, Taylor finished 22-20.ย 

For his career, Taylor produced 1,085 completions off 1,752 attempts for 12,254 yards. His touchdown-to-interception ratio is 68-29, prior to the start of the 2025 season.ย 

Another calling card for Taylor is his mobility. Since his first year in the league, Taylor amassed 2,281 rushing yards off 407 rushing attempts.ย
