Tyreek Hill Contract: Salary, Extension, Guaranteed Money

Once upon a time, Tyreek Hill was an elite cog in the Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive machine. But with an aging and increasingly expensive roster, the Chiefs had to make some tough choices about who they could pay.

With that in mind, the Chiefs elected to send Hill to the Miami Dolphins on March 23, 2022, as part of a sign-and-trade deal. 

Hill was immediately given a new contract extension worth more than $100 million, rightfully making him one of the highest-paid receivers in professional football. 

Along with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, Hill’s unique talent as a receiver has helped make the Dolphins’ odds a real target among futures bettors. 

Tyreek Hill Contract

Tyreek Hill signed a four-year, $120 million contract extension with Miami in March 2022 that runs through the 2026 season. The deal included a $25.5 million signing bonus. 

In August, the Dolphins restructured some of Hill’s deal. It still pays $90 million over the next three seasons, but it backloads some of the financial obligations and cap weight away from the Dolphin’s current 2024 sheet.

Tyreek Hill Salary

After the restructure, Tyreek Hill will earn $1.21 million in base salary for the 2024 season. This can be a misleading figure, though, as his total cash for the 2024 year is $26.25 million. 

Hill’s average annual salary for the life of the contract remains $30 million. 

Tyreek Hill Guaranteed Money

Tyreek Hill’s restructured contract includes $59 million in total guaranteed money. A large majority of that – $55 million – was guaranteed upon signing in August.
