One year after pulling off one of the biggest series upsets in American sports history, the Florida Panthers are trying to eliminate the Boston Bruins again. But this time they’re a favorite, not a huge underdog.

Odds and live betting will be available at the online sportsbook for each game, starting with Game 1 at Amerant Bank Arena on Monday.

Bruins vs. Panthers Game 1 Odds & Trends

TeamPuck LineTotalMoneyline
Bruins+1.5 (-190)Over 5.5 (+105)+145
Panthers-1.5 (+155)Under 5.5 (-125)-175

The Bruins were favored in each of the seven games in last year’s first-round series and in three of four matchup this season.

Those three games were among 68 total games during the 2023-24 regular season in which they were favored, tied with the Panthers for the fifth-most among all NHL teams.

  • Bruins: 27-41 (.397), ROI -6.5%
  • Panthers: 29-37 (.439), ROI 8.1%

Against the moneyline, the Bruins’ ROI was even lower at -9.3%, while the Panthers delivered a 11.1% return for committed bettors. That return, however, was entirely the result of road success:

  • Home: -4%
  • Away: 31.6%

It’s been another bad year for the league-wide Over.

After producing a -5.5% ROI in 2022-23 (including the playoffs), it’s -7% as of Sunday. Barring a run of Unders through the remainder of the Stanley Cup playoffs, it’ll be the Over’s worst ROI since 2006-07 (-7.1%).

Both the Bruins and Panthers have contributed to its futility this year. Collectively, they have an Over ROI of -20.7%, and have gone 8-20-2 in their last 30 games.

Bruins vs. Panthers Series Odds & Trends

More than 20 series-long NHL betting markets are available, including series winner:

Series Winner:

  • Bruins: +150
  • Panthers: -185

With last year’s first-round loss, the Bruins failed to win a series in consecutive years with a playoff appearance for the first time since 2002-04. They’ve won only three total series in the last four appearances since appearing in the 2019 Stanley Cup Final.

The Panthers, meanwhile, have five series wins in the last three years, more than in their first 27 years of existence.

Numbers of Shutouts:

  • No Games: -105
  • 1 Game: +165
  • 2 Games: +650
  • 3 Games: +1800
  • 4+ Games: +8000

These teams had 22 shutouts in 160 combined games, including five in the season’s final two weeks. They forced the shutout 13 times — eight by Florida and five by Boston — and ranked in the top five in goals allowed per game.

Before failing to score against the Washington Capitals in the season’s penultimate game, the Bruins had a streak of 28 games with at least one goal.

Bruins vs. Panthers Series History

After losing three straight to Florida last postseason, Boston swept the season series, 4-0, and have won 10 of the last 13 regular-season matchups.
