Prediction: Will the Tennessee Titans Make the Playoffs?
Based on Tennessee’s schedule construction, I predict it’s best to wait and make a live bet on Tennessee to make the playoffs.
The Titans’ 2025 season begins with a brutal trip to Denver to face the Broncos. Oddsmakers list the Titans as a 7.5-point underdog against the Broncos.
The schedule gets no easier from there. Tennessee returns home to face the Rams before two divisional games against the Colts and Texans.
After a trip to Houston in Week 4, Tennessee faces two additional road games at Arizona and Las Vegas.
Given that schedule, my opinion is that bettors wanting to take Tennessee to make the playoffs could see a better number after Week 6.
From Week 7 onward, the Titans play seven of 11 at home. That could help inform some of the positive regression expected based on last season’s performance.
Tennessee finished with only three wins in 2025, but it came against five expected victories. Under Callahan, the Titans finished 1-5 in the division but lost three games by seven or less.
Plus, the Titans defense – 18th in defensive DVOA last season – gets a super-easy schedule of opposing offenses.
After facing the league’s 15th-hardest set of opposing offenses in 2024, the Titans play the league’s second-easiest defensive schedule in 2025, based on 2024 offensive DVOA ratings.
That should take some pressure off rookie quarterback Cam Ward and an offense that leaves much to be desired.
If Ward improves the offense next season, I like the profile of a defense in 2025.
While an AFC South title may offer the only chance at a playoff berth, it’s a positive outcome or nothing for the Titans.
