College GameDay has already announced its Week 1 destination, and itโ€™s a highly anticipated border battle between North Carolina and South Carolina.

The College GameDay schedule could hardly have picked a better game to feature. Mack Brownโ€™s No. 21 Tar Heels have an early Heisman odds contender in Drake Maye and are looking to kickstart another season bound for the ACC Championship game.

Meanwhile, Shane Beamerโ€™s South Carolina Gamecocks are a trendy team on the rise, looking for some top-25 recognition of their own. Spencer Rattler finished the 2022 season on a tear, so with both Georgia and Tennesee breaking in new quarterbacks, South Carolina could make some noise in the SEC East.

North Carolina and South Carolina will face off at Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers. College GameDay will set up shop there, too.ย
