If a team is +10 in NFL betting at BetMGM, theyโ€™re considered the underdog. Their opponent, the favorite, would be -10.

To cover the spread (+10), the underdog must lose by nine or less points, win the game, or tie (after overtime). If they lose by exactly 10 points, itโ€™s a push.

To cover the spread (-10), the favorite must win by at least 11 points. If they win by exactly 10 points, it would be a push.

Overtime is included in the final score that determines if the team covers the spread.

Example of +10 Spread in NFL Betting

Carolina Panthers (+10, -110) at Washington Commanders (-10, -110)

The Panthers are the road underdog (+10), and the Commanders are the home favorite (-10).ย

If Carolina loses by nine or less points, wins, or ties, they cover the spread. If they lose by 10 points, they push. If they lose by at least 11 points, they donโ€™t cover.

If Washington wins by at least 11 points, they cover the spread. If they win by 10 points, they push. And if they tie or lose, they donโ€™t cover.ย

Here are some score examples:

Panthers 21, Commanders 10: The Panthers win by 11 points and cover the spread.ย

Panthers 35, Commanders 35 (OT): The Panthers tie and cover.

Commanders 40, Panthers 30: The Panthers lose by 10 points and push.

Commanders 32, Panthers 20: The Panthers lose by 12 points and donโ€™t cover.

Commanders 32, Panthers 21: The Commanders win by 11 points and cover.

Commanders 34, Panthers 24: The Commanders win by 10 points and push.

Commanders 21, Panthers 21 (OT): The Commanders tie and donโ€™t cover.ย

Payout for +10 Spread in NFL Betting

Carolina Panthers (+10, -110) at Washington Commanders (-10, -110)

The odds accompanying the spread determine the payout. In this Panthers-Commanders example, the odds for each spread (+10 and -10) are -110. The odds can vary for games; they could be +100, -105, -110, -115 or another value.

To calculate the potential payout, add a spread bet to your BetMGM Bet Slip.ย

With -110 odds, a winning bet with a $25 stake would return $38.18 (including stake).

At -105 odds, a winning bet with a $25 stake would return $39.05 (including stake).

If a spread bet pushes, the stake is refunded.ย

Parlays and sportsbook Odds Boosts are among the ways to change odds and lock in a bigger potential payout.ย

To build a parlay, add multiple bets to your Bet Slip and add a stake to the Parlays section.

To get an Odds Boost, check updated sportsbook promos or log in to your BetMGM account. If you donโ€™t have an account, check your eligibility for a welcome offer or BetMGM Refer A Friend bonus.
