The New York Yankees begin as MLB odds favorites to win the AL East after finishing atop the division last year. The Baltimore Orioles appear to be their primary challengers, with the Boston Red Sox lurking not far behind.

AL East Betting Prediction 2025
Based on the updated MLB betting market, my AL East prediction is that the Orioles will win the division (+275) in 2025.
Now that Juan Soto has left the Yankees, I expect the Orioles to have the best lineup in this division. Their young core was third in all of baseball last year with a wRC+ of 115, trailing only the Los Angeles Dodgers (118) and Yankees (117).
Gunnar Henderson became an AL MVP candidate in his second MLB season, though there is room for improvement with Baltimore’s offense. Catcher Adley Rutschman had a poor finish to the year, but I expect him to bounce back. It’s also easy to envision Jackson Holliday showing growth after a disappointing rookie season.
After losing ace Corbin Burnes in the offseason, there is a lot of pressure on Grayson Rodriguez to reach his full potential. But don’t be surprised if the Orioles make a move to improve their rotation.
The preseason markets are giving respect to the Yankees, but the Orioles are two years removed from winning 101 games and a division crown. They could return to the top of the AL East this summer.
