  • The Twins went 82-80 to miss the playoffs last year.
  • I predict Minnesota to return to the postseason in 2025.

The story of the 2024 Minnesota Twins began with optimism. They were coming off their first postseason series victory in 22 years and were expected to take the next step as preseason favorites in a weak division.

Instead, Minnesota watched three of its American League Central rivals make the playoffs. The Twins finished fourth in the division with an 82-80 record.

Can the Twins bounce back? Hereโ€™s a look at the latest MLB betting odds and my prediction for the Twins ahead of the 2025 season:

Twins MLB Odds 2025

Win Total: 83.5
AL Central: +220
AL Pennant: +1100
World Series: +3500

What a difference a year can make for the Twins’ MLB odds. Minnesota was a -125 favorite to win the AL Central and had a win total of 86.5 last spring.

The Twins are still favorites this season, but their +220 price is baking in more of a race. Their win total has dropped three games as well.

Here is a look at Minnesota’s preseason odds in recent years:

According to RosterResource, the Twins have a similar roster to last year after not doing much in free agency for the second straight offseason.

Twins Player to Watch in 2025

Royce Lewis could play a pivotal role in a bounce-back season for the Twins.

Injuries have limited him to 152 games across his first three seasons, but heโ€™s flashed his talent when on the field. Lewis hit four home runs in six games during the 2023 postseason run, following that up with 10 blasts in his first 16 games last year while dealing with multiple IL stints.

Lewis eventually played 58 of the teamโ€™s final 61 games, but his production dipped while moving from third base to second base. Still, it was a promising sign that he was able to stay healthy down the stretch.

Lewis could swing Minnesotaโ€™s season in either direction, making him an intriguing player to monitor in the early stages of 2025.

Twins 2025 Betting Prediction

Based on the updated MLB betting market, I predict the Twins to reach the postseason (+120) during the 2025 season after faltering down the stretch last year.

Minnesota entered last September in second place in the AL Central and had a 92% chance of making the playoffs. The Twins finished behind three division rivals after going 9-18 during the final month.

After another quiet offseason, the Twins are the same team that they were last year. The difference is, bettors are getting more value to buy Minnesota compared to last spring.

The Twins still have all the same flaws, particularly with their best players being injury-prone. Iโ€™m more willing to buy into their ceiling outcome at this price point, as opposed to when they were minus-odds favorites in the AL Central.

Minnesotaโ€™s division odds are enticing, but Iโ€™ll back its odds to make playoffs instead. There are postseason spots to be had in a weak league.

Prediction: Twins to make playoffs (+120)
