  • The Angels went 63-99 in 2024 for their worst finish in franchise history.
  • I predict Los Angeles will clear its win total this season.

The Los Angeles Angels didn’t finish with 100 losses, but their 63-99 campaign was four defeats more than their previous worst regular-season record in 1968.

After an active offseason, the Angels hope for better results in 2025.

Here’s a look at the latest MLB betting odds and my prediction for the Angels ahead of the 2025 season:

Angels MLB Odds 2025

Win Total: 71.5
AL West: +2500
AL Pennant: +8000
World Series: +25000

After losing nearly 100 games last year, the Angels’ MLB odds have their lowest preseason win total since 1994. That year, they had an over/under of 71 before finishing with 47 wins in a 115-game season.

For comparison, check out this breakdown of Los Angeles’ preseason odds in recent years:

Angels Depth Chart 2025

According to RosterResource, the Angels should have a better depth chart after being aggressive at the start of the offseason.

Los Angeles signed starters Yusei Kikuchi and Kyle Hendricks and added reliever Kenley Jansen. The Angels also traded for Jorge Soler for a middle-of-the-order bat.

Angels Player to Watch in 2025

Mike Trout remains the player to watch for the Angels entering his 15th season with the team.

Trout, 33, was once the best player in the league, but he hasn’t been able to stay healthy in years. In the 2020s, he played over 82 games in one campaign. Last year, he suffered a season-ending injury after 29 games.

Trout was off to a hot start last season, hitting 10 home runs and posting an OPS+ of 140 before his injury. Trout’s health remains the season’s most important story for the Angels.

Angels 2025 Betting Prediction

Based on the updated MLB odds market, I predict the Angels will clear their win total (71.5) this season.

The Angels are banking on being the 2025 version of the Kansas City Royals, who lost 106 games in 2023 before reaching the ALDS last season. Kansas City got its turnaround going by being surprisingly active in the offseason.

Los Angeles ranks ninth in the league in MLB payroll this season after being league average last year. That’s a sign that the front office believes this team is better than it showed last summer.

PECOTA projects 74.7 wins for the Angels, while FanGraphs has a projection of 75 victories. That indicates a slight value on the Angels’ win total at 71.5.

Prediction: Angels Over 71.5 Wins (-120)
